We make mobility
safer
With an inactivation rate of more than 95%, the air in the passenger compartment of a bus is cleaned of harmful viruses such as SARS-CoV-2 and its variants, bacteria, molds and other pathogens in a single airflow cycle.
Find out how it works and how UV purifier effectively makes the interior air of your bus safer by using UVC disinfection:
Purified air thus flows continuously during the entire journey and circulates in the passenger compartment, ensuring that the virus concentration in the bus is kept at a low level, even when there are infected persons on board who are constantly breathing out viruses. For us, the limit value for virus concentration in the interior of the bus is the same threshold value as for a hospital operating theatre at the start of an operation.
Exposure time and intensity, blow-through speed and geometry are carefully coordinated to ensure that the air stream emerging from the box is virtually virus-free (>95%).

Irradiation with UV-C light (254nm) is a proven method of disinfection by the inactivation of microorganisms and various viruses, including SARS-CoV-2. With adequate exposure time and intensity, the DNA of the virus is cracked and destroyed, so that it can no longer reproduce itself.
UV purifier uses this technology and offers maximum safety to passengers in buses, transit or city buses, and protection against the active viruses that circulate in the air in the form of aerosols.
It reduces the concentration of viruses in the air just as effectively as a fresh air supply.
Scientifically proven
The UV purifier can be used in all types of buses worldwide. The device is suitable as a retrofit solution as well as for installation in a new vehicle.
UV purifier Vent is installed directly in the passenger compartment and offers special advantages for the operator:
The UV purifier inactivates harmful viruses (including SARS-CoV-2) and kills bacteria and mold spores present in the air in the passenger compartment of buses. During one airflow cycle, more than 95% of all viruses are inactivated in less than one second. The effectiveness of UVC disinfection against corona viruses has been scientifically proven in the laboratory.
No, the device does not require any maintenance, there are no maintenance parts like filters or similar. However, in particularly "dusty" conditions, it is recommended to remove dust from the lamp, as otherwise the effectiveness of the radiation may be impaired.
With a running time of 12,000 hours the installed UV-C lamps are very durable and need to be replaced only very rarely. The UV purifier has a blink code fault diagnosis output that can be used to detect lamp failure or malfunction at an early stage. Due to the protective and stable aluminum housing, the devices are optimally suited for long-term use in public road traffic.
Yes, the operator can do this himself at any time. Of course, the device must be without power supply in any case, and all other safety regulations according to the operating instructions must be observed.
Basically yes. The Association of German Transport Companies recommends a fresh air supply in accordance with VDV 236, which applies to all buses equipped with an air conditioning system with a fresh air flap that allows a fresh air supply of 100%.
However, there are conditions in which this type of fresh air supply is insufficient, so that further measures against viruses are strongly recommended to achieve the fresh air effect.
Such conditions are:
From approx. 23° C outside temperature, when the proportion of circulating air from the air conditioning system increases significantly at the expense of fresh air. The proportion of fresh air is then no longer sufficient to reduce the virus load in the bus. The same applies to temperatures below 15°C.
There are still many vehicles worldwide that are equipped with air conditioning, but without a fresh air flap. Or else, the existing fresh air flap only allows an approx. 20-30% fresh air supply.
In many countries there is still a large number of buses that are not air-conditioned at all and do not have fresh air ventilation devices.
As a UV purifier Vent, the unit can be used at any time, regardless of the presence of an air conditioning system. This is particularly important in order to be able to react very quickly in the current situation, so that the existing bus vehicles in the field can be easily upgraded with UV protection.
The plug-and-play retrofit kit of the UV purifier Vent can be installed quickly and flexibly and is ready for operation in no time.
It is very important to bring the virus concentration in the bus interior to the level of the VDV Fresh Air Recommendation as quickly as possible. This can only be achieved if very fast and very effective action can be taken against the viruses:
Yes, the effectiveness of UV purifier has been confirmed by tests with the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Scientific proof of the effectiveness of the lamps used was provided by the Institute for Medical Virology at the University Hospital Frankfurt. The risk of infection with SARS-CoV-2 is therefore reliably and efficiently minimized by disinfecting the interior air with UV-C radiation.
No, the UV purifier does not produce ozone for two reasons:
In addition to the stronger 254nm wavelength that does not produce ozone, UV-C lamps offer another layer of ozone protection.
Most germicidal lamps, including those from UV Resources, are produced with doped quartz glass, which blocks the transmission of the 185nm ozone-producing wavelength. The doped quartz glass allows the 253.7nm radiation to pass through, but it blocks the 185nm wavelength from escaping. Therefore, germicidal lamps with doped glass CANNOT produce ozone.

Yes, the UV purifier is specially designed for continuous operation during the journey and while passengers are on board.
UV purifier effectively disinfects the air in the passenger compartment not only from corona viruses, but also from other viruses, bacteria, mold spores or bad odors.
So even if a vaccine will be available, it is currently impossible to estimate how effective it will be and what role the SARS-CoV-2 virus or other viruses will play in the coming years.
For these reasons, we must assume that SARS-CoV-2 or other viruses and pathogens will continue to be an issue in the future.
UVC air disinfection with Valeo UV purifier in buses can be used as a supporting measure and as part of efforts to stop the spread of Corona pandemic. In order to avoid infections with SARS-CoV-2, the general hygiene rules, such as social distancing, wearing face masks covering both the nose and mouth and washing your hands, must be observed. Always adhere to the currently valid regulations.
